Best Lanikai Beach Parking (Free!)
The best option for Lanikai Beach parking is the boat ramp parking lot of the adjacent Kailua Beach Park, about a 10-15 minute walk.

You cannot walk along the beach since there is a rocky cliff in between the two beaches.
Walk along Mokulua Drive and take one of the many Lanikai Beach access points to reach the beach, typically a pathway between private homes.

Lanikai Beach Parking Restrictions (2025)
Street parking within the Lanikai neighborhood is strictly regulated, follow all posted signs.
More recently, parking on weekends in the Lanikai neighborhood has been prohibited.
Some areas, especially along Mokulua Drive and Aalapapa Drive, have no-parking zones to keep the streets clear for residents and emergency vehicles.
Many of the smaller side streets have restricted parking hours, typically parking is not allowed from 10 pm to 6 am.
Follow posted signs, do not block driveways or access points, and park only in designated areas.
Street parking is free on a first-come, first-served basis. Your best chances for securing a street parking spot are on weekdays and early in the mornings.
If you parked on a neighborhood street, you can get to Lanikai Beach from one of many beach access points.
January 2025 NOTE: Due to construction activity at the Kailua roundabout, parking will not be permitted on all streets, shoulders, and cross-streets between Mokulua Drive and ʻAʻalapapa Drive between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. until the project is complete. Completion is expected in mid March.
